Weight Loss
Excess weight is associated with a variety of comorbidities and chronic health conditions like heart disease, cancer and Diabetes. Healthy weight management is KEY to mitigating chronic disease. Sometimes “losing weight” is not as simple as diet and exercise. Sometimes we have to dig deeper to find why the weight is not coming off. Body weight is regulated by many environmental and physiological factors. Gathering information through lab testing may provide insight into reasons for weight-loss resistance. While dietary intervention may vary from one patient to the next, recommending a micronutrient-rich diet, high in fiber and low in refined, processed foods, serves as a reasonable starting point. At baseline, a lifestyle program that focuses on appropriate physical activity, adequate sleep, and stress management can provide a foundation for ideal body weight. Sometimes we need more. We just need to find your body’ script and translate it.
